Year 6 Balanced Argument

To inspire our cold task yesterday, the children came back from Daily K to discover a fish in the classroom.

They then write a balanced argument using the following question – Should all schools be allowed to have pets?

Our model text and our writing focus for the next week is about whether whales should be kept in captivity. The children watched some clips of orca shows in SeaWorld and were fascinated by this. They had some really interesting discussions about whether they thought this was fair to the whales.

Today the children explored the features in the text which will support them in their writing later on in the week.
