Our Junior Librarian team is made up of Year 6 pupils who look after our sensational library and collection of books.
Their job is to encourage children as much as possible and to be as enthusiastic and excited about reading as they are.
At Yavneh Primary, we believe that books have the power to take us to places we never thought were possible. Books help us learn; develop our imagination and curiosity, improve our writing skills and expand our already astonishing vocabulary.
The Junior Librarians look after the library including using the computer system to scan books in and out. They run a lunch time library club where they support children from the younger years to inspire and help children when choosing a range of books.
Alongside teachers they supported in developing World Book Day events to bring books to life. They are continuously working on ways to encourage pupils to read and find a way to incentivise reluctant readers.
