At Yavneh Primary School, we believe that offering leadership opportunities can help build a stronger school community and empower pupils.
These activities contribute to the sense of pride pupils feel about their school and enable them to develop leadership skills in preparation for life beyond school.
Pupil’s voices are highly valued and as such pupils are given opportunities to share their opinions regarding decisions which will impact upon them. Many of the children at our school often provide adults with different perspectives on current issues and future improvements, and have some fantastic, innovative ideas for how to maintain a fun, safe and exciting learning environment. Therefore, we provide meaningful opportunities to extend pupil involvement in school decision making through different leadership opportunities.
All positions of leadership are chosen during class elections, which reflect our British electoral system and demonstrates democracy in action. Pupil’s apply for positions giving reasons for their suitability, ideas and skills that would make them the best candidate.
